Claudia Martorell – Partner

Claudia’s interest in immigration law stems from her first-hand experience of the immigration process having immigrated to the United States from Mexico. A naturalized U.S. citizen, she can empathize with the challenges immigrants face in seeking lawful immigration status in the United States. Her pursuit of a career in immigration law began after a legal internship at Legal Aid Society of San Diego. She found the experience of helping foreign nationals navigate the immigration maze to be very rewarding.

As a Partner with the firm, Claudia focuses on employment-based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant visas, such as B, H-1B, E, L, TN, and O; immigrant visa matters covering all aspects of the permanent residency process, including PERM, Extraordinary Ability filings, Outstanding Researchers, Multinational Executives/ Managers, and National Interest Waivers. She also advises on I-9 and other compliance issues. Claudia represents clients in a broad array of industries, such as technology, finance, energy, healthcare, pharmaceutical, non-profit, and manufacturing.

She also assists individuals seeking to immigrate through family and to obtain naturalization to secure the many benefits of U.S. citizenship. Claudia’s goal is to make the often seemingly daunting immigration process as smooth and effortless as possible for her clients. She believes that U.S. immigration policy should work to unite families and meet the employment needs of the U.S. economy. To that end, Claudia has taken part in advocacy efforts for immigration reform both locally and in Washington, D.C.
